ADRIAN, MI – After a difficult 2-1 loss on Friday, Oswego Women's hockey returned to Arrington Arena, less than 24 hours later, seeking redemption and a crucial on-the-road win against the 8th ranked Adrian College Bulldogs. Despite controlling play on both the offensive and defensive ends of the ice, the Lakers fell 1-0 to the hosts.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Lakers came out firing on all cylinders with a huge opening faceoff win by Senior Kensie Malone.

The 1st period quickly turned into a game of inches, with both teams fighting for zone time and generating multiple quality scoring opportunities.

The first period came to an end with the Lakers and Bulldogs tied at 0-0.

It seemed as though the 0-0 scoreline would persist, until Tia Lascelle of Adrian scored a breakaway goal at 1:32 giving the Bulldogs the lead early in the 2nd period.

Throughout the rest of the period, the Lakers kept their intensity and controlled play even when Adrian gained power play advantage at 9:29.

The first two frames would come to an end with Oswego still trailing the hosts 1-0.

Oswego earned back-to-back power plays in the opening minutes of the third period in which the Lakers generated 13 shots on net, but still no goals. .

Despite gaining 2 more power play advantages and a breakaway scoring chance from Junior Mackenzie Hull, the Lakers could not find the back of the net, closing out the game with the score standing at 1-0.
WHAT'S NEXT
Oswego Women's Hockey will head to Potsdam, N.Y. to face off against the Potsdam Bears on Friday, December 1st at 3PM. The Lakers are gearing up to secure a big conference win on the road before having some time off for the Holiday season.
