POTSDAM, N.Y. – The Oswego State Women's Ice Hockey team raced to a fast start scoring three times in the first period against SUNY Potsdam Friday afternoon. The Lakers defeated the Bears 3-1.
THE BASICS:
Final Score: Oswego 3 (5-4-1, 3-2-1 SUNYAC), Potsdam 1 (3-5-0, 1-4-0)

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Lakers Rachel Corbett struck first two minutes into the game on assists from Rheya Zemlak and Ashlyn McGrath.
- Two minutes and 22 seconds later, Erika Parenti scored a powerplay goal on assists from Rachel Corbett and Lauren Schell. This was Parenti's second goal of the season.
- Ashlyn McGrath scored the game winner in the 18th minute of the period on the power play. Simone Bendnarik and Kensie Malone tallied an assist.
- The Bears Sara Barrett scored the Bears only goal of the contest in the 19th minute of the second period.
- With the win of the Bears the Lakers moved to 3-2-1 in SUNYAC play.
WHAT's NEXT
The Lakers will head to Amherst College on December 31 at 1:00 PM.
