HOUGHTON, N.Y. – Senior Aidan Harrington and sophomore Daniel Mars ran top-10 times in Oswego State Track and Field history in a pair of sprint events to open the season at Houghton's December Classic meet to lead the Lakers.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• For the men, Mars' time of 7.20 seconds in the 60-meter dash is third-best in program history and helped him to first place in the unseeded final.
• Of the 99 sprinters who ran the 60-meter dash, Mars had the fifth-fastest time on the afternoon.
• Mars placed sixth in the 200-meter dash with his time of 23.23 seconds, ninth-best in Oswego program history.
• Harrington finished second in the unseeded 60-meter dash with his time of 7.22 seconds, the fifth-fastest in program history.
• His time was sixth-best on the day among the 99 competitors in the event and a new personal best.
• Like Mars, Harrington grabbed a top-8 finish in the 200-meter dash with his time of 23.35 seconds.
• Freshman Christian Charles grabbed a top-10 in the unseeded 60-meter dash in 7.47 seconds and took sixteenth (out of 72) in the 200-meter dash (24.12).
• Freshman Hunter O'Dell grabbed seventh in the triple jump at 12.76 meters, tenth-best in Oswego program history.
• Other Lakers with top-20 finishes were Jordan Ballard (60m hurdles, 11^th), Osasenaga Egharevba (100m, 13^th), Alex Reyes (100m, 14^th), Thomas Mahunik (600m, 17^th), and Ernest Venable Jr. (200m, 19^th).
• On the women's side, freshman Morgan Tompkins took seventh in the high jump at 1.42 meters.
• Fellow newcomer Riley Flynn finished in the top-20 in both the 200-meter dash in 29.83 and in the long jump (9.11m).
• Senior Roxanne Barnes set a new personal best in the 100-meter dash (9.02) to finish first among the Lakers in the event.

The Lakers will head to Utica on December 9 for the Utica University Holiday Classic.  The meet is slated for a 10 a.m. start time.
