OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State Women's Hockey team hosted the Cortland Red Dragons this evening for their annual Pride Night game. The Red Dragons were able to prevent the sweep by the Lakers on the season as they defeated the Lakers 2-0 at home.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Through the first period, the score remained tied at zero, with Lexi Levy recording 13 saves in the period. Oswego won the majority of the faceoffs in the period, winning nine to Cortland's three.

Neither team would score in the second period of play, with both teams having multiple opportunities to get on the board first. The Laker defense stood tall in the second period, allowing the Red Dragons to have just five shots on goal. Levy would have 18 saves through the second period.

Cortland would get on the board first just a minute and a half into the final period, and take the 1-0 lead over the Lakers.

Just over ten minutes into the period, Cortland would take a two puck lead over the Lakers with a power play goal.

The Red Dragons had 16 shots on goal in the final period, with Levy allowing just two goals. Levy finished with 32 saves on the evening.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Lakers will stay home and take on the Buffalo State Bengals tomorrow afternoon on Saturday, February 11th. The puck drop is scheduled for 3pm. The Lakers will recognize their eight seniors after the game.
