BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The Oswego State Men's Basketball team defeated the SUNY Brockport Golden Eagles on Friday night in a well-rounded game, avenging their December 2 loss. With this victory, the Lakers have clinched the #1 seed in the conference and will host the SUNYAC final four on February 24th and 25th.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Cartier Bowman had a big first ten minutes of the game, scoring nine points.

Oswego demonstrated a great example of passing the ball around, and other than Bowman, most of the Lakers scored in some small capacity.

The Lakers initially had a 15-point lead, but Brockport cut it down to 10 with about five minutes left in the first half.

Oswego surrendered two more points of their lead before the end of the first half, but still ended the half with a 44-36 lead.

The Lakers maintained their eight-point lead during the first five minutes of the second half, led by Bowman, Jeremiah Sparks, and Jamal Achille.

While Brockport began to make a small run at the Lakers, Devin Green and Ahkee Anderson both hit three pointers to extend the Laker lead back out to 10, with the score 65-55 and midway point of the second half.

After Brockport cut the lead to six, Ahkee Anderson hit a jumper to keep it at eight.

With about three minutes left, the lead was at five, 71-66.

Ahkee Anderson hit two big jump shots down the stretch to keep the Lakers in front. Oswego hung on to beat the Golden Eagles, 79-73.

Devin Green led the Lakers with 18 points. Bowman had 17, Jamal Achille had 13, and Ahkee Anderson had 11.
