ITHACA, N.Y. – The Oswego State Wrestling team battled in the first day of the NCAA Division III Mideast Regionals on Friday, scoring 23 points, good enough to put them 15th of 21 teams entering Saturday.

In the 125 pound weight class, John Vicario went 0-2.

In the 133 pound weight class, Michael Santore went 0-2.

In the 141 pound weight class, Kaleb Carreon went 2-2, including a fall victory over Muhlenberg College's Chris Dalmau at 4:26.

In the 149 pound weight class, Tyler Rossini went 1-2 with a 5-2 decision victory over Centenary University's Mark Venson.

In the 157 pound weight class, Logan McGloine went 2-1, with decision victories over Johns Hopkins University's Jared Osborne (5-3), and McDaniel College's Xavier Howard (6-5). This placed him in 8th.

In the 165 pound weight class, Steven Felice went 0-2.

In the 174 pound weight class, Charlie Grygas defeated both opponents he had; a 2-1 decision over RIT's Ben Dougherty, and a 14-6 major decision over Oneonta's Kenny Sauer in the quarterfinal. He will look to continue his momentum on Saturday.

In the 184 pound weight class, Bryce Smith went 2-2, with decision victories over Johns Hopkins University's Luke Hirtzel (8-1), and Brockport's Gavin McLaughlin (6-0).

In the 197 pound weight class Anthony Cascen went 1-2 with a tech fall victory over University of Scranton's Joe Cosgrove.

In the 285 pound weight class, Anthony Vasquezwent 0-2.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Lakers will continue competing in the Mideast Regionals on Saturday, February 25. Grygas will attempt to win the 174-pound weight class.
