POTSDAM, N.Y. – The Oswego State Men's Lacrosse team traveled to Clarkson to take on the Golden Knights this afternoon. Gavin Elston led the Lakers with two goals in their loss to Clarkson.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Clarkson put up two goals before Gavin Elston found the back of the net with nine minutes left in the first quarter.

At the end of one, Clarkson would lead the Lakers by four, leading 5-1.

The Golden Knights continued to add to their lead in the second, netting five goals against the Lakers. The Lakers were unable to net any goals in the quarter, and would trail 10-1 at the half.

Corey O'Connor netted the third goal for the Lakers, at the 12:13 mark. O'Connor was unassisted on his goal.

Clarkson added four more goals before the end of the quarter, and led the Lakers 14-3.

The Lakers continued to find the back of the net in the fourth, adding four more goals in the quarter. Max Brodman scored while being a man-up, getting the assist from Gavin Elston.

Jason Dongelewic scored the second goal of the quarter with nine and a half minutes remaining in the game.

Gavin Elston netted his second goal of the game with just under eight minutes remaining in the quarter. The Lakers trailed by eight at this point in the contest.

Clarkson responded with three unanswered goals of their own, to give them a 17-6 lead over Oswego.

With just over three minutes remaining, Liam Sexton scored the final goal for the Lakers. Clarkson added two more goals before the end of regulation, and handed the Lakers a 19-7 loss in their season opener.
WHAT'S NEXT
The men will come home to Laker Turf Stadium to take on the Morrisville State Mustangs in their home opener on Saturday, March 11th. The game is set to begin at 1pm.
