MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Oswego State Women's Lacrosse team traveled to Morrisville for a matchup against the Mustangs. The Lakers' recent success on offense continued as they throttled the Mustangs, putting up over 20 goals this afternoon. Four Lakers recorded hat tricks this evening, with a total of ten different Lakers scoring a goal.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Lakers offense in the first half was virtually unstoppable, alongside their defense. In the first quarter, the offense put up eight goals, holding the Mustangs scoreless.

Isabella Lembo got the Lakers off to their hot start, scoring her first goal just 37 seconds into the contest.

Oswego added six more goals in the next six minutes of play, with goals from Kate McNally, Sela Wiley, Madison Davis, Isabella Lembo, and Shae McConnell.

Davis scored the last goal of the quarter with 3:39 remaining in the first.

In the first five minutes of the second quarter, Oswego added four more goals to extend their lead to 12. These goals were scored by Wiley, Noelle Smith, and Lembo. Sela Wiley scored both of her goals of the quarter while being up a girl, and secured her hat trick with 10:52 remaining in the quarter.

In the final six and a half minutes, Oswego scored three more goals to give them a 15-0 lead at the half. Scoring for the Lakers was Erin Cody, Davis, and McConnell.

Just 27 seconds into the third quarter, Shae McConnell recorded her hat trick, with an assist from Madison Davis.

The Mustangs scored their first goal of the contest with 12:54 remaining in the third, they would trail 16-1.

Julia Quirk would silence the Mustangs with back-to-back goals of her own just two minutes later, and give the Lakers a 17 point lead.

Sela Wiley netted her team leading and final goal of the afternoon with 6:28 remaining in the third.

Morrisville added one more goal before the end of the third, to cut their deficit to 17 going into the final quarter of play.

The Mustangs scored their third goal just 46 seconds into the fourth quarter, and would trail 19-3.

With 7:57 remaining in the game, Ashley Casserly received an assist from Madison Davis to give Oswego a 20-3 lead.

Morrisville netted their final goal of the contest with 5:18 remaining, giving them four goals on the afternoon.

Alexis Hill netted the final goal for the Lakers with just 26 seconds remaining in the game, and the Lakers would take the 21-4 victory over the Mustangs.

Sela Wiley finished with four goals, and four assists for a total of eight points this afternoon.

The women will travel to Rochester on Wednesday, March 15th to take on St. John Fisher University. They will face off against the Cardinals at 4pm.
