ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Oswego State Women's Lacrosse team traveled to Oneonta for a matchup against the Red Dragons. The Lakers put up 16 goals on the day, getting a three goal road victory over Oneonta, preventing a second half rally by the Red Dragons. Isabella Lembo had a day for Oswego, netting seven goals during the contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Oswego came out swinging to begin the match, with Isabella Lembo recording her first goal of the game just a minute into play.

Shortly after, Julia Quirk extended the lead to two with her first goal of the game.

A couple minutes passed before Lembo scored back-to-back goals and gave the Lakers a four goal lead. Lembo was already at a hat trick with 9:27 to play in the first, and she was just getting started on the day.

The Red Dragons netted their lone goal of the quarter with 7:53 remaining, and the score would be 4-1.

Quirk helped the Lakers extend their lead to five, netting a goal with 2:51 remaining, and finding Sela Wiley for the player up goal with 52 seconds left in the first. Oswego led 6-1 going into the second quarter.

The second quarter would be as even as it could be, with both teams netting four goals before the end of the first half.

Shae McConnell recorded the first goal in the second, less than four minutes into play, giving Oswego a 7-1 lead.

A minute later, Wiley netted her second goal of the afternoon, making it a seven goal game.

Oneonta would respond with a goal of their own shortly after, and the lead would be cut to six.

McConnell wasn't done yet though, getting the quick goal to bring the lead back to seven with 8:49 remaining in the half.

Over the next six minutes, Oneonta would score three more goals and the Lakers lead was trimmed to four.

With just 20 seconds remaining in the half, Madison Davis netted her first and only goal of the game, giving Oswego a five goal lead at halftime.

It was all Oswego early into the second half, with Wiley completing her hat trick less than a minute into the third.

Lembo caught fire in the third, netting three straight goals to extend the Lakers lead to nine with 7:42 remaining.

Oneonta would add two more goals before Kate McNally found Katie Fierro for the Lakers final goal of the third.

The Red Dragons added two more goals before the fourth quarter, and the Lakers took a 15-9 lead into the final quarter.

Oneonta got the best of Oswego in the fourth, but it wasn't enough to dig them out of the hole they dug themselves in the previous three quarters. The Red Dragons added four goals in the fourth, and Oswego added just one.

Scoring the final goal for the Lakers was Lembo, who finished the day with seven goals, helping the Lakers get the 16-13 road victory over Oneonta.

Goalkeeper Sarah Kamide recorded 13 saves in the game, giving her 100 saves so far on the season.

The Lakers will conclude their regular season play with a road matchup against Cortland on Wednesday, April 26th. The match is set to begin at 7pm.
