PITTSFORD, N.Y.  –  The Oswego State Volleyball team went head to head against Trine University Volleyball today at 5pm at the first stage of the RIT Invitational. The Lakers were sweep 3-0 but not before the Lakers made a  run to extend the game in the third set.

HOW IT HAPPENED

	Sydney Chiffriller led the Lakers' match kills with 3 kills.  
- 
	During the first set, frequent attack errors by Trine offered the Lakers an advantage early on.  
- 
	The Lakers demonstrated their strong forward thinking strategy with 7 blocks to Trine's 5 and setting the pace was Grace Taylor with 4 blocks. 
- 
	Niah Dias led with 7 assists for Oswego.  
- 
	For the final set, the Lakers brought their very best pulling ahead for the first two thirds.  
- 
	Strong initiative from Madison Gordon as she blazed the path with a hitting percentage of 50%.  
- 
	In the final set, the contest drew close with a third set final of (21-25) making Trine Thunder break a serious sweat to earn their final few points.

The Lakers remain in Rochester tomorrow for a back-to-back with St. John Fisher University and University of Rochester on Saturday, September 16th at 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM respectively.
