OSWEGO, N.Y.  –  The Oswego State Women's Soccer team tied the Saints out of the Liberty League this afternoon with goose eggs on the board. Oswego and St. Lawrence both had multiple chances in the contest, the goalkeeping and defense was working overtime for both teams.

Final Score: Oswego State 0 (2-1-2, 0-0 SUNYAC), St. Lawrence 0  (1-1-2)

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Lakers earned the first three shots in the contest, the first by Luigina Serrao at 17:14, Nicolette Joannou at 32:21 and Amber McDermott at 32:57. 

• The Lakers had two corner kicks at the 39:01 and 40:51 marks of the second half, unable to put one in the net as the Saints defense and goaltending kept the game at zero's. 

• The second half was much more offensive minded, it seemed there was a bit more urgency to get into their respective offensive zones as the second half dwindled down. 

• At 75' Brianna Winkler had a scoring opportunity but it was again saved by the Saints' goalkeeper. 

• St Lawrence poured on the offense in the final 15 minutes of play trying to take the lead. 

• Oswego's defense stood strong on the back line, keeping the Saints to only two shots in the final 11 minutes of the contest and neither on goal. 

• Oswego had a corner kick at 88' but the Saints defense was able to head the ball out of danger. 

• The contest ended at zero's and the Lakers and Saints earned a tie. 

WHAT'S NEXT

The Lakers will go on a three game road trip from September 19th through September 27th. SUNYAC play will start on September 23rd against the Potsdam Bears at 1:00PM.
