UTICA, N.Y. – The Oswego State Women's Tennis team was victorious over the Pioneers of Utica this afternoon by a score of 7-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Emily Lussier and Cara Campanie fell in first doubles by a score of 8-1.

Emily Lyga and Kathryn Salamida won in second doubles 8-1 to tie the contest 1-1.

Alyx Sperling and Rafaela Dimitrakopoulou brought the Lakers ahead with an 8-3 third doubles victory, victorious by a score of 8-3.

Lyga took second singles 6-2 and 6-1.

Salamida took third singles 6-1, lost the second set 6-4 and won the tie-breaking set 6-1!

Alyx Sperling took fourth singles 6-1 and 6-0.

Dimitrakopoulou took fifth singles 6-3 and 6-3.

Lussier won the final match of the day in sixth singles. This one went to a tie-breaking set after Lussier won the first set 6-2 and fell in the second set 6-4 to force a tie-breaking set. Lussier won this set 1-0 to bring the Lakers to seven match victories in the contest.
WHAT'S NEXT
Oswego will head back to the shores of Lake Ontario to take on the Highlanders of Houghton at 1:00PM in a dual match in unison of the Men's Tennis program.
