OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State Men's Soccer team was challenged tonight by SUNY Potsdam at Laker Turf Stadium. It was an uphill battle for both sides as the match was closely contested but the Lakers were able to score and hold, paving way to victory

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Bears received no quarter from the Lakers and faced an onslaught of 6 shots in the first 18 minutes of the game.

The Lakers' persistent and proactive offense managed to break through at the 30 minute mark with a goal scored by Kyle Hanner and assisted by Kyle Gehnrich. This was a beautiful free kick by Gehnrich straight to Hanner for the goal by a header.

Lots of action from the Lakers as they had the Polar Bears beat in the stats as well, Oswego managed to take 20 shots by the final whistle.

Pressure was building in the second half for the Lakers as they needed to hold their ground to prevent the Bears from scoring.

Two yellow cards for Potsdam were assessed but the Lakers had a clean game with no players earning yellow cards.

The stars aligned for the Lakers as they were able to block the Bears offense and sail to victory.
