OSWEGO, NY – The Lakers kicked off their 2024 slate of games with a Tuesday morning home matchup against the Nazareth Golden Flyers. The Lakers were able to get back into the win column with a 4-1 victory on home ice.

HOW IT HAPPENED
· Both teams would struggle to generate offense in a tightly played first period in which the Lakers held the Golden Flyers to just 3 shots on target.
· The game appeared to be heading into the intermission scoreless when Connor Sleeth managed to find the back of the net for Oswego with just 3.1 seconds remaining in the period.
· The game began to open up more in the middle frame starting with a tying goal by Anthony Quinlivan from Nazareth four minutes into the 2nd.
· Trent Grimshaw would answer for the Lakers 4 minutes later to restore the lead for Oswego.
· Then, Cam Symons would provide some cushion to the Lakers lead with a goal of his own at the 11:30 mark of the period and the period would finish with the Lakers leading 3-1.
· The third period would see less action as the Lakers would focus on protecting their lead and shutting down the opportunities for the Golden Flyers, however the Lakers dynamic duo of Shane Bull and Tyler Flack would find an opportunity to connect once again with Bull scoring the fourth goal of the day for the Lakers.

The Lakers will get 10 days off before heading to Western New York on January 19th and 20th for a pair of SUNYAC games with Fredonia and Buffalo State.
