ONEONTA, NY – The women's basketball team faced off with the Oneonta Red Dragons in their first road SUNYAC matchup of the season. After jumping out with an early lead, the Lakers would fall by a score of 61-56 in a tightly contested game.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lakers began Tuesday's game on the front foot, shooting 42% in the first quarter and gaining an early 18-13 lead over the home side.
- Oswego would begin the second quarter strong as well increasing their lead to as large as 9 points when they were up 26-17 with 6 minutes remaining in the second quarter.
- Oneonta would use those final 6 minutes, however, to begin to crawl back into the game reducing the lead to just 4 points as halftime arrived with the Lakers leading 33-29.
- The game would continue to see each team trading chances in an even third quarter that would finish with the Lakers leading 44-43 heading into the final frame.
- The fourth quarter would prove to be the Red Dragons' best quarter as they would score 18 points while putting up their best shooting percentage of the game. This would be enough to overtake the lead and defeat the visiting Lakers by a score of 61-56.
- Karleigh Leo led the Lakers offensive efforts with 17 points on the evening.

Oswego will return home this weekend for a matchup with the Cortland Red Dragons on Saturday at Max Ziel Gym with a 2pm tip off.
