OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego State Women's Basketball team hosted the Cortland Red Dragons on Saturday afternoon at Laker Hall. The Red Dragons entered the game undefeated in SUNYAC play, but the Lakers defended their home court with a 59-47 win, ending the Cortland streak.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Oswego came out swinging to start the game, jumping out in front early with a 10-2 lead over the visitors.
- Oswego would retain their lead through the end of the first quarter, but Cortland would begin to claw back ending the quarter with Oswego leading 15-10.
- The second quarter would see very little offensive output for either team as each side would only score 9 points, sending the game to the halftime break with Oswego in front, 24-19.
- Cortland began the third quarter with some strong shooting to close the gap and take the lead 30-28 just 2 minutes and 40 seconds into the half.
- The Lakers locked in and would not only take back the lead but would go on a 17-2 run to control the rest of the quarter and take a 45-34 lead into the final quarter.
- The fourth quarter would see each team trading baskets as the Lakers would not let Cortland get back into the game and the game would finish with a 59-47 scoreline in favor of the home side.
- The Lakers' scoring leaders were Chastin Giles with 16 points and 9 rebounds and Shania Iglesias with 11 points.
- Giavanna White-Principio would also add 8 points and 12 rebounds on the day.

The Lakers will return to action with a road trip to New Paltz where they will take on the Hawks at 5:30pm on January 16
