WILLIAMSPORT, PA – The Oswego State Wrestling team headed to Lycoming College to participate in the Budd Whitehill National Duals Tournament. Over the course of the two-day tournament, the Lakers would take on 5 different opponents finishing the weekend with a record of 1-4.

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• In the first match of the tournament, the Lakers took on Springfield College. Despite wins by Gabe Goss, Tyler Rossini, and Charlie Grygas; the Lakers would fall by a score of 28-12.
• Next, the Lakers would faceoff with Roanoke College where Tyler Rossini and Anthony Cascen would record wins but, ultimately the Lakers would drop the second match by a score of 34-12.
• In the final dual to round out Day 1, the Lakers went to battle with Milwaukee School of Engineering, accumulating four wins from Michael Santore, Gabe Goss, Tyler Rossini, and Charlie Grygas. This effort would not be enough as MSOE would win the dual by a score of 26-16.
• On Day 2, Oswego would start their day against a tough Wilkes team who would defeat the Lakers by a score of 40-7. The Lakers points would come from Michael Santore and Tyler Rossini.
• In the final matchup of the tournament, the Lakers would pick up a win over Williams College by a score of 25-21. Oswego would get wins from Michael Hade, Michael Santore, Tyler Rossini, Payne Weinhauer, and Anthony Cascen.
• Tyler Rossini had a strong weekend for the Lakers, winning all 5 of his matches on the weekend.

WHAT'S NEXT 
The Lakers return to the mat next weekend when they visit Nassau Community College for the New York State Collegiate Championships.
