Women's Hockey Falls at home to #7 Hamilton

OSWEGO, NY - SUNY Oswego women's hockey (8-7-1) hosted the #7 Hamilton College Continentals (11-3-1) Tuesday evening for a non-conference match-up. The Continentals defeated the Lakers, 3-1.

The Lakers struck first taking a one goal lead at 9:27 when Hamilton College was called for tripping give the Lakers a power play. Ashlyn McGrath found the back of the net from Lauren Schell. Later in the first after out shooting SUNY Oswego, Hamilton College tied it up with a goal of their own to send us into the first break tied at 1. The second period saw both teams with scoring opportunities, and it looked like we would head into the second break still tied at one until Hamilton scored to take a one goal lead with 0.4 second remaining in the second period. The Oswego offense continued to try and create scoring opportunities in the third period but were stalled by the Hamilton College defense. In the final five minutes of regulation, the Continentals scored their final goal of the night taking a 3-1 lead. The Lakers pulled their goalie late but were not able to find a way back and ultimately fell to #7 Hamilton College at home. Lexi Levy recorded her third highest save total of the season for Oswego with 36.

Women's hockey will next host the Utica Pioneers on Friday for a 3:00 Pm non-conference game at the Deborah F. Stanley Arena.
