OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State men's hockey team returned to the ice Friday night to take
on the Anna Maria College Amcats. With a tied score after the second period, the third saw an
abundance of action with ten total penalties and six goals. The Lakers emerged victorious 5-3.
THE BASICS
Final Score: Oswego 5 (12-6-1, 8-2-0 SUNYAC) Anna Maria College 3 (12-8)
Location: Oswego State | Oswego, NY | Deborah F. Stanley Arena
HOW IT HAPPENED
Tyler Flack got the action started for the Lakers by scoring the first goal on a power play and
was assisted by
Connor Gatto and
Quinn Warmuth. The Lakers ended the first period besting
the Amcats in shots on goal 16-11. Anna Maria tied things up at 10:05 in the second period; the
score remained even going into the last period of the game. A five-minute power play after an
Amcat penalty saw
Cam Symons (assisted by
Ben Addison and
Brock Krulicki) score goal
number two of the night.
Matt McQuade kept the momentum going for the Lakers by scoring the
third goal (assisted by
Tristan Francis and
Connor Sleeth) just 23 seconds later still under the
power play. With multiple players in the penalty box, Oswego took advantage of some open ice.
Some nice passing led
Thomas Rocco to score the fourth goal. Soon after, two Amcat goals
made the score too close for comfort at 4-3. Flack solidified the win with the final goal of the
night on an empty net with 1:01 remaining on the clock (assisted by Addison).
Brandon Milberg
had 30 saves for the night.
WHAT'S NEXT
The men's hockey team will have another home game on January 27 at 7:00 PM in the
Deborah F. Stanley Arena versus SUNYAC foe Morrisville State College.
