OSWEGO, N.Y. – Oswego State Women's Basketball hosted SUNY Brockport in their first game of 2024. The Lakers edged the Eagles with a 61-56 win.

Final Score: Oswego State 61 (7-2, 3-0 SUNYAC); Brockport 56 (5-5, 1-2 SUNYAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Eagles jumped out with an earlier 7-2 run maintaining the lead through the first quarter. Eagle lead the Lakers 19-13 at the end of the first.
• The Lakers climbed back within one on a 3-pt shot made by Chastin Giles.
• The Eagles responded with a 9 point run. Giavanna White-Prinicpio responded with a 2-pt layup to stop the Eagles run.
• Brockport closed out the first half leading the Lakers 32-25.
• The Eagles flew out in the third quarter with a 10-2 run extending their lead to 39-29.
• The Lakers rallied with a 3-pt bucket by Shania Iglesias to bring Oswego within five.
• Oswego headed into the fourth-quarter down five, 41-46
• The Lakers fought off several Brockport runs, taking the lead at 2:50 off a defensive rebound and layup by Shania Iglesias.
• The Lakers maintain the lead for the remainder of the game defeating the Eagles 61-56.
