OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego State Women's Basketball team entered Saturday looking to continue their strong start to the 2023-24 season and remain undefeated in SUNYAC play. A visit from the Geneseo Knights would put an end to the Lakers undefeated start to conference play as the visitors won by a score of 72-57.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Knights came out strong in the first quarter which included an 11-0 run for the visitors midway through the first frame. The quarter would end with the Knights leading the Lakers 23-14.
- Oswego bounced back in the second quarter as their defense would shut down the Knights offense, holding them to just 12 points while the home team would put up 20 to send the game to halftime with the Lakers trailing just by a score of 35-34.
- The visitors from Geneseo returned to the court controlling the play for the final two frames outscoring the Lakers 37-23 leading to a final score of 72-57 in favor of the Knights.
- The Lakers offense was led by Chastin Giles who recorded 14 points and 4 rebounds on the afternoon.
WHAT'S NEXT
Oswego will have a couple day break before hitting the road for their first SUNYAC road trip of the season when they visit Oneonta State on Tuesday evening.
