OSWEGO, NY- The Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving teams hosted the SUNY Oneonta Red Dragons for their first meet of the 2024-25 season on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

To start the day, teams took on the 200 Medley Relay. For the women, Maura Waite, Aurora Javie, Katherine Burch, and Alexia Lemus finished with a time of 2:05.36.

In the men's 200 medley relay, the Lakers sent 3 teams. Hernandez, Stevens, Sindhi, and Sterling finished with a time of 1:44.24. Smith, Gublo, Wilton, and Vignona finished with a time of 1:49.45. Then, Neckers, Fouchong, McGary, and Ruiz finished with 1:58.38.

In the women's 1000 free, Izzy Dague finished first with a time of 11:31.96, then Emily Seldin finished third at 11:58.62. She was followed by Emily Lotito at 12:11.84.

In the men's 1000 free, Sarnowski came in second (11:18.53), Liedka came in third (11:52.88), and Luca McGary finished fifth (13:13.04).

Some notable finishes for the Lakers include Bella McDonald finishing first in the women's 200 free at 2:06.56 followed closely behind by Emily Seldin at 2:10.75.

In the women's 50 free, Katherine Burch took first (1:00.00) and Aurora Javie finished second (1:01.00). In the men's 50 free, Nathan Ratta Vine finished first (30.14) and Jayden Hernandez finished second (33:31).

In diving, Serena Bardin placed first in the 1-meter category.

In the women's 100 fly, Katherine Burch finished first followed closely by Anna Baker. For the women's 100 free, Jayna Laferriere finished first and Mckenna Briggs was in second.

Sam Waddell placed first in the men's 100 free with a time of 50.53.

Izzy Dague finished first in the women's 100 back with a time of 1:06.47.

Jake Sarnowski took first in the men's 500 free with a time of 5:18.55.

Aurora Jarvie placed first in the women's 100 breast with a time of 1:02. 89. Then, Nathan Ratta Vine finished first in the men's 100 breast with a time of 1:02.89.

The women's team of Briggs, McDonald, Lemus, and Laferriere finished first in the 200 free relay.

WHAT'S NEXT
On November 2^nd, the Lakers will host Clarkson University for their second home meet of the season starting at 1:00 PM.
