CANTON, NY – The Oswego State Women's Soccer team took on the Canton Roos in a conference tilt. The Lakers took the lead early and never looked back, securing a conference win on the road.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Lakers went into this contest with immediate energy and defensive tenacity. The Lakers were able to notch the early lead as senior Jackie Marquardt was able to find the back of the net at 8:55. Oswego's first half barrage would continue as Kaylee Elliot was able to increase the Laker lead to 2 off of a cross from Sabrina Schmitt at 16:44. Kaylee Elliot's busy day would continue, as she scored her 2nd goal of the day off of a cross from Emma Rechtorovic, only 4 minutes after her 1st goal. Erika Yancey picked up her 4th goal of the season at 29:31 off a dish from Jackie Marquardt. The Lakers took a comfortable 4-0 lead into halftime after outshooting the Kangaroo's 16-1. 

The 2nd half didn't see as much action as the first for the Lakers, but they were still able to mount numerous scoring chances. The Lakers outshot the Roos 14-0 during the 2nd half, resulting in a quiet day for Oswego goalkeeper Perri Anderson.

The Lakers will come home to the shores of Oswego on Saturday, October 5th and 1:00 PM to take on SUNY Morrisville for Senior Day.
