OSWEGO, N.Y. – The SUNY Oswego women's soccer team hosted the Bengals of Buffalo State on Wednesday afternoon in what was a crucial late season conference match-up. The Lakers took a 1-0 lead in the first half and held it for another 65 minutes to secure the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lakers and Bengals went back and forth for the first twenty minutes of the game. The Lakers got off more shots and pressured the Bengals keeper but were not able to find a goal until the twenty fourth minute.
Emma Rechtorovic delivered a cross in front of the goal to
Amber McDermott who took a shot that went off the Bengals goalie and rolled into the back of the net. The Lakers went into halftime up 1-0.
The second half consisted of a buildup of tension between the two teams. Buffalo State received three yellow cards in the game and the Lakers received one. As the Bengals forced their way into the Lakers zone, Oswego and
Perri Anderson were able to constantly turn them away. In the final minute, the Lakers kept the ball in the Buffalo State zone securing a big conference win and vaulting them to third place in the SUNYAC standings.

For their final regular season game of the season, the Lakers will head to SUNY New Paltz this Saturday for a 12:00 PM game.
