HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lakers started out strong against the Roos, recording 15 kills and 27 total attacks in a dominant 25-11 win during the first set.
Priscilla McReynolds, who has been a force all season, finished the match today with 17 kills.
Sets 2 and 3 proved to be more difficult for the Lakers, as the Roos won set two 25-20 and set three 25-17.
With their backs against the wall, the Lakers pulled a huge win in the fourth set, beating the Kangaroos 25-16, and forcing a fifth set, thanks to the performances of
Kalley Vugteveen,
Grace Gdovin, and
Mya Bush.
Bush, who finished the match with 33 assists, helped her team to carry that momentum into the fifth set, stomping the Kangaroos 15-6, and securing the conference win for the Oswego State Lakers.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Lakers will host the SUNY Potsdam Bears in another SUNYAC conference matchup on Friday, October 18th, at 6PM in the Max Ziel gymnasium.
