HOW IT HAPPENED

The Lakers offense was hot right out of the gate. They were first to put themselves on the board and kept the ball rolling from there. Fredonia State scored a three pointer that tied up the score 9-9. Oswego answered right back with two key three pointers and a layup boosting the score to 17-9. Last minute baskets left the score with Oswego ahead 17-13 at the end of the first quarter.

Quick efforts by the Blue Devils tied the score only a minute and a half into the second quarter. Relatively even play caused the score to increase little by little. The Laker defense held strong, only allowing Fredonia State to take the lead once.

Starting off the second half with a bang was Macey DeOrdio with a three. Two Blue Devils free throws tied up the score at 37-37. With a strong momentum push, the Lakers regained the lead ending the third quarter 43-37.
Just eight seconds into the final quarter, Logan Castiglione contributed a jump shot to edge up the score. Both teams were hungry for the win. As Fredonia State narrowed the point margin, Oswego kept edging ahead.  A Blue Devil three boosted them up, but still trailing, 49-48. Two Fredonia layups put them in the lead 54-52, with 40 seconds to go. Securing the win after three good free throw shots was Fredonia State. The final score of the game was 57-52.

Six Lakers contributed to the final score for the night. Giavanna White-Principio led the team with 19 points, Zhane Holmes added 15, and Shania Iglesias 10. White-Principio also had 14 rebounds and Holmes 7.
