OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego Women's Lacrosse team traveled to Fredonia State to take on the Blue Devils. The Lakers led for the entirety of the game, minus the first minute and a half of play. The matchup was highlighted by Oswego scoring 11 goals in the second half and Isabella Lembo scoring eight goals over the course of the game which concluded 20-4.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The game this afternoon started out with a bang as Fredonia took immediate possession after the initial draw control and scored the first goal just 12 seconds into the game. Isabella Lembo netted one in the top corner to retaliate. The next draw control saw Oswego take possession and just 10 seconds later Madison Davis scored goal number two for the Lakers. Julia Quirk then had back to back goals. For her first goal, she used an underhand shot to score among a pack of Blue Devils, and the second goal came 20 seconds later with a quick shot from the right side. Oswego had two free position opportunities but was only able to capitalize on one of them where Lembo netted a low shot to the right which boosted Oswego 5-1 over Fredonia.
In the second quarter, Noelle Smith passed from the right side of the goal to Sela Wiley who scored right on target in the middle of the goal. At the 12:43 mark, Fredonia scored their second goal after a quick passing play. The Lakers later had a free position opportunity but the shot was deflected and quickly picked up by the Blue Devil goalie. Fredonia took a shot that bounced from inside the crease to the back of the net which made the score 6-3. Almost two minutes later, Cassidy Croce added one of her own to keep a safe lead from Fredonia. After five minutes of scoreless play, Sadie Zemanick scored off of a bounce shot to add to the point differential. Quirk took a free position shot on the right side to push Oswego up by six, making the score 9-3.
In the second half, Fredonia took advantage of a free position opportunity and scored with a low shot. Oswego took possession from the next draw control and Wiley passed to Davis for goal number 10. Lembo capitalized on a free position opportunity, followed by two additional goals in the following minutes, further extending Oswego's advantage to 13-4. Later Lembo continued her hot streak by scoring on another free position shot. The Lakers added two more goals to end the quarter at 16-4.
With 12:09 left in the game, taking advantage of play with a man-up, Lembo scored. In addition to Lembo, Alexis Hill and Davis each scored once more in the final quarter of the game to take an overwhelming win 20-4.
Sarah Kamide was in goal most of the game for the Lakers collecting six saves, she was relieved by Alana Iacovissi.
Lembo scored a game high of eight goals for the season. This ties Lembo for second all time in goals in a game. She is the record holder, scoring nine goals in a game against Oneonta last season.

The Lakers will travel to New Paltz to take on the Hawks April 13 at 3 p.m.
