GENESEO, N.Y. – The Lakers men's lacrosse team looked to continue their nine-game win streak on Saturday when they took on the Knights of SUNY Geneseo. The Knights offense took down the Lakers 15-6.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Despite the early defensive pressure from the Lakers, the Knights jumped out to a 2-0 lead after one quarter of play. Geneseo built on their lead scoring first in the second quarter. Two minutes later, Connor Aspinall broke the drought scoring the first goal of the game for Oswego (assisted by Corey O'Connor). Then, Corey O'Conner scored a goal of his own (assisted by Max Broadmann) to cut the lead down to just one with ten minutes to play in the half. The Knights quickly answered back but Hayden Coney scored on a pass from Corey O'Connor keeping the Knights close. Geneseo pushed the pace and took a three-goal lead with just 90 seconds remaining. After a timeout, Corey O'Connor scored just before the end of the half to make the score 6-4 in favor of the Knights at halftime.
It did not take long for Geneseo to build on their lead in the second half, scoring once again in the opening minutes of play. After a successful clear, Max Broadmann scored his first goal of the game off an assist from Emmet Starowizc. The Knights went on to score three unanswered goals for a 10-5 lead with only one quarter left to play. The Lakers committed 27 turnovers and it finally caught up with them in the fourth quarter where they were outscored 4-1 and ended their win streak with a road loss to Geneseo.
