HOW IT HAPPENED

The Lakers started off strong, taking an early 1-0 lead thanks to a solo shot over the fence from Blake VanDreason in the top of the first.

The Blue Devils would strike back in the bottom of the first, after a double off the wall drove in two runs, giving Fredonia a 2-1 lead through one inning.

A two-run home run in the bottom of the third would tack on two more runs for the Blue Devils, making it 4-1 Fredonia after three innings.

Jacob Levine hit a two-run homer in the top of the fourth, bringing the Lakers back within one, but the Blue Devils responded with a two-run home run of their own, making it 6-3 Fredonia through four innings.

Fredonia would tack on one more run in the bottom of the fifth making it 7-3.

Tishawn Featherstone, Jacob Levine, and CJ McCarthy all drove in a run in the top of the sixth. Making it a 6-7 game.

An Owen Parliament double and a CJ McCarthy three-run homer gave the Lakers a 10-7 lead in the top of the eighth. Walks by Daniel Winchester and Blake VanDreason both drove in a run to keep the rally going. Then Jelani Hamer was hit by a pitch, when the inning was over, Oswego found themselves up 15-7 after a 9 run inning.

In the ninth the Lakers walked two bases loaded walks again from Blake VanDreason and Joe McLaughlin. Finally, a Jacob Levine grand slam capped off the afternoon helping the Lakers take game one from the Blue Devils, 22-8.
