Lakers Complete Three game Sweep of Fredonia

OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State Baseball team resumed their doubleheader against Fredonia that began on Sunday. The Lakers dominated both games taking the first game 15-0 and the second game 19-4.

Game 1: Oswego 15  Fredonia 0

Game 2: Oswego 19 (22-12, 10-5 SUNYAC), Fredonia 4 (13-20, 3-12 SUNYAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED 

Game 1:

The games versus Fredonia resumed from where they left off on Sunday at the top of the eighth inning. The games were played at Oswego but Fredonia was the home team. 

Picking back up from Sunday, the Lakers were up 4-0. Jacob Levine started the hot streak, he doubled to bring in Tishawn Featherstone. The Lakers scored 7 more runs before the Blue Devils could make an out. Oswego scored three additional runs before heading to the field where they held strong to end the game after the eighth. Oswego took the win 15-0. 

Game 2: 

CJ McCarthy reached first on an error which brought Daniel Winchester home. A ground out got McCarthy home to make the score 2-0 in the first inning. 

In the top of the third, McCarthy scored and Jelani Hamer then scored from a sacrifice fly. Owen Parliament was brought in by a single and Trey McGowan stole home to bring the score up 6-0. 

Furthering their dominating lead, the Lakers secured another four runs in the fourth. With two outs, Fredonia snuck in a single run. 

In the bottom of the fifth with two outs, a Blue Devil batter reached first on an infield error. The next batter hit a double to center field, bringing in the runner and edging their score up by one, 10-2. 

The top of the sixth saw Feliz De Asa Delacruz, Brian Bezosky, Joe McLaughlin and McGowan score to raise their tally 14-2. 

In the seventh and final inning of the game Oswego scored five and Fredonia scored two to close out the game with the Lakers taking the win 19-4. 

WHAT'S NEXT  

The Lakers return to action tomorrow at home versus the New Paltz Hawks at 3:00 p.m.
