OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State Baseball team hosted the SUNY New Paltz Hawks for their final regular season series of the season. Game one was Friday at 12:00 PM on Laker Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In the bottom of the first,
Daniel Winchester and
CJ McCarthy both singled and when
Jelani Hamer reached on an error, Winchester crossed home. Later in the inning,
Trey McGowan reached on an error scoring
CJ McCarthy and Hamer. McGowan would score on an error by the catcher and the Lakers would head to the second inning up 4-0 over the Hawks.
When we got to the 6
th inning, the two teams were tied at 4, New Paltz grabbed a one run lead in the top of the inning and Oswego tied it back up in the bottom of the inning on a Feliz De Asa De La Cruz single that scored
Blake VanDreason.
The Hawks opened this one up in the top of the 7
th scoring 5 runs on 5 hits to take a 10-5 lead.
A two run
Jacob Levine home run in the bottom of the 7
th cut the deficit to three with two innings remaining.
In the bottom of the ninth, the Lakers had two on with no one out but could not push across a run and fell in game one to the Hawks, 10-7.
Jonah Shearer started for the Lakers on the mound and was relieved by
Alek Conrad,
Larry Citrola, and
Aiden Kerr.

The Lakers return to action tomorrow hosting the New Paltz Hawks at 12:00 PM for a double header and a celebration of their seniors.
