OSWEGO, NY – The SUNY Oswego women's tennis team opened their season on the road against the Alfred University Saxons on Friday. The Lakers took down the Empire 8 foe by a score of 6-1. Today, the Lakers visited Houghton University and defeated the Highlanders by a deficit of 7-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lakers dropped the first doubles match to Alfred, but
Emily Lyga and
Kathryn Salamida picked up the slack taking care of their opponents 6-3. That was followed by another Lakers doubles win from
Emily DeLuca and
Leah Bell, 6-1.
In singles,
Emily Lyga,
Kathryn Salamida,
Emily DeLuca,
Leah Bell and
Avery Borman all defeated the Saxons giving the Lakers a 6-1 win in their season opener.
At Houghton University, the teams of
Avery Borman/
Isabella Eason and
Kathryn Salamida/
Emily Lyga won their doubles matches 6-0.
Emily DeLuca and
Leah Bell took care of business as well, finishing their opponent, 6-1.
