OSWEGO, N.Y. - The SUNY Oswego men's soccer team hosted their home opener on Tuesday against the Elmira College Soaring Eagles. An exciting end to the first half boosted the Lakers to a 1-0 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The first half saw both teams with opportunities to score but neither were able to find the back of the net until the final seconds of the half. Elmira was issued a yellow card giving the Lakers a free kick with less than 10 seconds remaining. The kick was delivered to the front of the goal with both teams jostling over possession until
HaJoon Lee, rose above the crowd heading in a goal just before time expired. The Lakers snuck into a 1-0 lead right before the half.
The Soaring Eagles came alive in the second half testing the Laker defense for most of the 45 minutes. There were a few close calls, but
Kyle Rose collected most of his 11 saves in the second half. As time wound down. Elmira has a few scoring opportunities as well as corner kicks but a shot over the net in the final 15 seconds helped the Lakers secure their third win of the season, this time on their home turf.

The Lakers will host their second home game in a row on Saturday September 14
th when RPI comes to Oswego for a 2:00 PM game.
