The first half of the opening set was no disappointment and everyone watching knew we were in for a close one with the biggest lead only being 3. Nail biting through and through but Misericordia handled it well as they managed 5 straight kills late to put the set away, 25-20. Oswego did not play up to par down the stretch of the first set of play as they only had 10 kills and 11 errors throughout.

Misericordia had no signs of stopping as they came rolling into the second set scorching hot. They led 8-2 and with five recorded kills. Misericordia kept applying pressure, leading 11-4 but Oswego tightened the gap to 2 with Miseicerodia leading 11-9. The comeback was on and it was sponsored by Mya Bush as she had an assist-block-kill sequence to keep this set close. With a kill, and 2 aces Misericordia didn't like the idea of a comeback and started to pull away again. Misericordia was on a 9-3 run and up 20-12 and coach Jon Stenman had to call a timeout to gather the team.
