HOW IT HAPPENED
In what turned out to be a high scoring affair, the Red Dragons struck first. In the third minute of action, the Red Dragons snuck one past Brandon Milberg taking a 1-0 lead. Less than three minutes later, Nico Paone got the Lakers on the board to tie this one up at 1 goal apiece. The two teams each had more scoring chances before the end of the period, but Cam Symons of the Lakers scored in the final minute of the period giving Oswego a 2-1 lead at the first break.

In the second period, physical play picked up between these two rivals. Two goals were scored for each team as well in the second twenty minutes with goals coming from Jesse Horacek and Brandon Cohen for the Lakers. The Red Dragons were assessed four penalties in the second period, but the Lakers were not immune and were issued a penalty of their own. A bright spot for this Lakers team is their penalty kill which killed all three penalties that they faced this evening.

Heading into the third period, Oswego held a 4-3 lead but was not satisfied. Colin Vassallo buried a goal in the first minute of play helping the Lakers build on their lead. That was followed by goals from Ryan Burke and Justin Ryan less than two minutes apart from each other. Finally, Ryan Burke scored in the 17th minute to give us our final score, 8-3 in favor of the Lakers.
