HOW IT HAPPENED

Plattsburgh won the tip-off but missed their first shot attempt, allowing Oswego to take control early. Shania Iglesias opened the scoring with a jumper, followed by Giavanna White-Principio's layup off a Cardinals turnover. Elaina Johnson extended the lead to 6-0 with two free throws, and after a brief scoreless stretch, Iglesias added another jumper. Macey DeOrdio capitalized on a trip to the line with two free throws, and White-Principio converted a layup fed by Johnson's defensive rebound, putting the Lakers up 12-0. Plattsburgh began to find their rhythm late, cutting into the margin with a layup and a three-pointer, but Oswego maintained control through their flawless free-throw shooting and strong ball movement. Iglesias added two more from the line before Sydney Hoefs closed the quarter with a three-pointer, giving Oswego a 19-7 lead.

The Cardinals returned to the court with renewed energy, quickly cutting into the Lakers' lead with back-to-back three-pointers. Oswego worked to settle their offense and maintain control while Plattsburgh continued to close the gap. A foul on a Cardinals player resulted in two free throws, further chipping away at the lead. Three minutes into the quarter, Macey DeOrdio scored for the Lakers with a layup, but the Cardinals immediately responded with a jumper, keeping Oswego's lead at just four points. A turnover by Plattsburgh allowed Giavanna White-Principio to sink a three-pointer, followed by Elaina Johnson's layup, boosting the Lakers' lead to nine points at 26-17 and prompting a Plattsburgh timeout. The Cardinals returned with a layup and later a jumper after a scoreless stretch, narrowing the lead to five points. With under two minutes left in the half, both teams increased their intensity. The Cardinals drew contact on a layup for one free throw, closing the gap to 27-24. In the final seconds, Plattsburgh drained a three-pointer to tie the game at 27-27 heading into halftime.

The Lakers opened the third quarter with possession, methodically passing the ball until Shania Iglesias found a scoring opportunity with a jumper. Both teams played aggressive defense, making baskets difficult to come by as the shot clock became a factor. When the Cardinals pushed their defense higher, Giavanna White-Principio took advantage, driving in a layup to extend the Lakers' lead to 31-27. Plattsburgh scored their first basket of the second half three minutes in with a layup, but Oswego immediately responded with another jumper from Iglesias. White-Principio added a layup, marking her eleventh point of the game and pushing the Lakers ahead 35-29. After a stretch of scoreless play, Oswego called a timeout. Back on the court, Plattsburgh's possession ended with a steal by White-Principio, and a foul on Macey DeOrdio sent her to the line, where she made one of two free throws. DeOrdio and Elaina Johnson each added baskets late in the quarter to extend the Lakers' lead. The teams prepared for the final quarter with Oswego ahead 40-29.

Oswego entered the final quarter with a commanding lead and wasted no time adding to it. A perfectly executed pass from Macey DeOrdio set up Giavanna White-Principio for a layup, which she repeated moments later after a Plattsburgh turnover, pushing the Lakers ahead 44-29. Following another Cardinals turnover, Elaina Johnson capitalized with a layup, and DeOrdio extended the lead to 48-29 with a jumper. The Lakers' defense dominated, holding the Cardinals scoreless from the field for the first five minutes of the quarter. Plattsburgh managed their first points on a pair of free throws but remained unable to break through Oswego's cohesive defensive and offensive play. Julia Logana added to Oswego's momentum with an offensive rebound and tip-in, bringing the Lakers to 50 points. Although the Cardinals found a layup late in the quarter, Jenna Russo responded with back-to-back three-pointers, further solidifying the Lakers' lead at 56-34. The final seconds saw Logan Nyemchek sink a jumper, sealing Oswego's 58-34 victory and ending Plattsburgh's previous winning streak.
