NEW PALTZ, NY. - The Lakers hit the road to take on a familiar foe, the New Paltz Hawks on Tuesday night. The Hawks kept their foot on the gas the whole night and handed Oswego a road conference loss, 73-52.

HOW IT HAPPENED
From the opening tip, the Hawks overwhelmed the Lakers by taking a 9-0 lead. The drought was stopped by a
Gary McLane layup from the Lakers, but Oswego would not score their second basket of the half until the clock read 10:43. At that point, New Paltz built a 13-point lead that got as high as 17 in the first half. Oswego shot 31% from the floor in the first half while committing 12 turnovers to the Hawks 5. The Lakers found themselves down 35-19 at halftime.
In the second half, the shooting from the floor improved for Oswego but on the defensive end the Hawks shot 60% and 40% from three. The smallest lead the Hawks held in the second half was 14 points, but it ballooned as high as 25 in favor of New Paltz.
Deacon Judd and
Gary McLane both scored 14 points for the Lakers and
Xavier Allen added 11 points from the bench. New Paltz handed Oswego their 4
th conference loss of the season, 73-52.
