OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's tennis team continued its strong season with a 5-2 victory over Cortland on Wednesday afternoon at home. With the win, the Lakers improved to 7-1 overall.
 
THE BASICS
Oswego: 5 (7-1, 4-1 SUNAYC)
Cortland: 2 (5-4, 3-2 SUNYAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Oswego picked up two crucial points in doubles play. The duo of 
Avery Borman and 
Ashlyn Feneck battled to a 7-5 win at second doubles, while 
Isabella Eason and 
Kate Hayes were dominant at third doubles, cruising to a 6-1 victory.
In singles, the Lakers secured four of the six matches to seal the team win. Borman showed grit at the top of the lineup, outlasting Cortland's Lisa Schulz in a three-set thriller (6-3, 6-7, 6-4). 
Emily DeLuca added another key point at third singles with a straight-sets victory (7-6, 6-4), while Eason (6-2, 7-6) and Hayes (6-4, 6-2) closed the door at fourth and fifth singles with steady performances.

The Lakers will have a small break until they compete at the SUNYAC Women's Tennis Championship Tournament starting on Friday October 17
th.
