Houghton, N.Y. – The Oswego State Men's and Women's Cross-Country teams were back in action this weekend at Houghton University for the Houghton Highlander XC Invitational.

The SUNY Oswego cross country teams delivered strong performances this weekend, highlighted by junior
Hannah Reichard's record-breaking run in the women's 6K. Reichard crossed the line in 21:54.4, setting a new program record and leading the Lakers' charge.
Close behind was
Elena Gaffney, continuing her stellar season with a time of 21:56.6, securing the second-fastest finish in program history. Junior
Kyra Pellegrino rounded out the top three Lakers with a solid 22:28.6 effort.
Angelina Buttigieg (28:14.1),
Grace Stevens (28:20.5), and
Julia Weaver (29:42.0) also contributed key performances to the team's depth, while several underclassmen gained valuable race experience in a competitive field.
On the men's side, junior T.J. Bowes led Oswego with a strong 27:44.4 in the 8K, followed by senior Jeffrey Simmons in 28:24.4. Sophomore J.T. Goss (29:52.4) and senior
Aidan Hafer (30:04.4) rounded out the Lakers' top pack. First-year runners
Evan Young (30:28.3) and
Miles Thompson (31:47.6) continued to impress as they adjust to collegiate competition.
What's Next:
On Saturday October 18
th the Lakers will head to the Canisius University Invitational starting at 10:0 AM for their final meet before the SUNYAC Championships.
