Oswego, NY – SUNY Oswego women's soccer hosted the New Paltz Hawks on a beautiful fall afternoon. With pestering defense from both squads, the Lakers and Hawks finished it a tie, 0-0.
The Basics:
Oswego: 0 (5-4-3, 2-1-2 SUNYAC)
New Paltz: 0 (6-3-3, 2-1-2 SUNYAC)

How It Happened:
Oswego controlled much of the first half. They had 6 shots on goal to the Hawks 2.
Paytyn Crane played sound defense, batting away any good looks New Paltz had on goal keeping their score at 0. The Lakers also did well limiting the offensive push from the Hawks. Oswego had 6 corners, which was 5 more than New Paltz. Although the opportunities were present, Oswego couldn't find the back of the net. With both teams playing relentless defense, the score remained knotted at 0 for the first half.
Although total shots from each team were much closer than the first half, Oswego had 3 more shots on goal than New Paltz. The Lakers were in fact controlling the contest but were unable to find the back of the net. Corner kicks were limited for the Lakers as they only had 1 in the second 45 minutes.
Brianna Winkler had a good chance to score in the 40th minute but the lower left strike was saved and it remained 0-0. The two squads were not willing to give an inch either way and this conference match-up ended in a 0-0 tie. This marks
Paytyn Crane's 5th clean sheet of the season.
With this tie, the Lakers and Hawks are knotted at 4th place in the SUNYAC standings.
What's Next:
Oswego will march into Potsdam to square off against the Bears this coming Wednesday. The Bears currently sit at 1-2-1 in SUNYAC. Kickoff will be at 4:00pm.
