Potsdam, NY - The SUNY Oswego volleyball team hit the court for a full day of action on Saturday, taking on the Potsdam Bears (SUNYAC) and the St. Lawrence Saints (Liberty League) in Potsdam, NY.

How it Happened:
Game 1
Junior
Gigi Basile led the way offensively, recording a match-high 15 kills on a stellar .387 hitting percentage, while adding three total blocks and 17 points.
Grace Gdovin and
Kalley Vugteveen provided strong support at the net, tallying nine and eight kills, respectively.
Setter
Mya Bush orchestrated the Oswego attack with 33 assists, keeping the offense balanced throughout the match. Defensively,
Lauren Cropp anchored the back row with 16 digs, while
Gabriella Bishop added 13 digs and a team-best three service aces.
The Lakers dominated the first two sets with efficient hitting and sharp serving before Potsdam rallied to take the third. Oswego regrouped in the fourth, using timely kills and solid blocking from
Alaina Dudzinski and Basile to close out the match convincingly. This win improved the Lakers to 4-0 in the SUNYAC.
Game 2
Junior
Gigi Basile once again paced the Oswego offense, posting nine kills on an efficient .286 hitting percentage to lead the Lakers' attack.
Gabriella Bishop chipped in six kills, while
Kalley Vugteveen added five, giving Oswego a balanced effort at the net.
Setting up the offense,
Mya Bush directed the attack with 18 assists and added a kill of her own, while
Samantha Madigan provided valuable support with nine assists and a pair of digs.
On the defensive side,
Grace Gdovin anchored the back row with 10 digs, matched by
Juliana Santafemia, who also hit double digits in the category. Up front, Basile and Vugteveen each recorded three block assists, playing a key role in disrupting the Saints' rhythm at the net.
Despite hitting .119 as a team, the Lakers battled hard throughout, nearly forcing a fourth set before St. Lawrence edged them out 26–24 in the final frame.
What's Next:
The Lakers will hit the road again next weekend to take on two more SUNAYC opponents. Buffalo State on Friday and Fredonia on Saturday.
