The Basics
SUNYAC Championship
Oswego – 0 (20-9, 7-2 SUNYAC)
Cortland– 3 (24-7, 9-. SUNYAC)
Cortland, NY
How It Happened
Oswego fought to establish rhythm early, but Cortland's aggressive serving and balanced offense forced the Lakers into difficult swings. Still, Oswego's resilience showed throughout the match, responding with stronger stretches in sets two and three and refusing to let the atmosphere of a championship road environment shake them.
Offensively, the Lakers were paced by
Priscilla McReynolds, who tallied six kills and added five digs in a high-volume outing.
Kalley Vugteveen provided steady production with five kills on a .250 hitting percentage, while
Gigi Basile added four kills and a block assist.
Setter
Mya Bush delivered 16 assists—quarterbacking the offense under heavy Cortland pressure—and chipped in six digs and two kills of her own. On the defensive side,
Grace Gdovin anchored the backcourt with a team-high six digs and added an ace.
Oswego's strongest push came in the third set, where the Lakers matched Cortland point-for-point through several long rallies and multiple lead changes. Despite the late surge, the Red Dragons closed the frame on a run to secure the championship.
What's Next
This concludes the Lakers season with an overall record of 20-9, the first time they have reached the 20-win mark since 2019.
