HOW IT HAPPENED
Oswego started off very heavy on offense as they tallied 10 shots in the first three and a half minutes. In the fourth minute, Oswego finally got one to go. It was Connor Gatto on the goal off the pass from Tommy Bannister and Nico Paone. The Lakers struck first as they were in complete control all throughout the opening minutes of this contest. The Bears picked things up a little as they got a little more offense going but the Lakers matched it well. There were no power plays in the first period of action, but both teams were playing ultra-aggressive on both sides of the puck. The period ended 1-0 in favor of the Lakers.

As the second period got started, Potsdam looked  better on the offensive side. They got their first goal of the game to go in the seventh minute of the period. Jakob Hull put puck-to-net and tied this game up at one. The Lakers soon after had the first power play of the game. Oswego couldn't snatch the lead back but did fire off six shots during the five versus four. Another power play would be in favor of the Lakers about 8 minutes later in the period and this time Oswego capitalized. Colin Vassallo scored off the feed from Ryan Burke and Aidan Cooper. The Lakers took the lead late in the second period, 2-1 and held it to the buzzer.

Just 30 seconds into the last period of play, Oswego added to their lead. Connor Gatto found Josh Simpson for the goal. Oswego was now leading 3-1. Although a comfortable lead, it was evident Oswego didn't want to take their foot off the gas. The Lakers kept firing shots at Potsdam and played well on defense. The Bears did, in fact, cut the lead down to one in the fifth minute. Potsdam's Jeremy Quesnel would be the scorer and just like that, the game got a little more serious. The Lakers, even when focused on defense, find a way to score. In the 15th minute Oswego did just that. It was Matt McQuade off the dish from Cam Symons. The Lakers now led four to two with just over four minutes left to go. Oswego would get yet another power play towards the end of the game but couldn't put the cherry on the already decorated cake. The Lakers picked up their sixth straight win against the Potsdam Bears with a final score of 4-2.
