Lakers Fall to Union Despite Second Half Push

Oswego NY – Oswego put together a gritty, high-effort performance in Saturday's Max Ziel Tournament Championship. Despite trailing by as many as 19 in the second half, Oswego showed resilience, clawing back to cut the deficit to four in the final minute before ultimately running out of time.

The Basics

Oswego 75 (1-1, 0-0 SUNYAC)
Union 81 (2-0, 0-0 Liberty)
Location: Max Ziel Gymnasium / SUNY Oswego / Oswego, NY

How It Happened
The Lakers were led by Deacon Judd, who poured in 19 points, including several key second-half finishes that helped spark the comeback. Steven Bradley added 18 points and 3 steals, knocking down timely threes and pushing the pace as Oswego tried to chip away. Arthur Foster was a force on the glass with a 14-rebound, 17-point double-double, anchoring Oswego's interior presence and keeping possessions alive.

After falling behind 50–41 at halftime, Oswego struggled to slow Union's offense early in the second half but didn't fold. The Lakers mounted a determined run, fueled by transition buckets from Judd and Bradley and strong defensive rebounding from Foster and Freddy Fowler. With 42 seconds remaining, Judd's driving layup cut Union's lead to 79–75, bringing the home crowd to its feet. The Lakers forced a miss on the next possession, but Union's late free throws sealed the championship.

What's Next
The Lakers will have a quick turnaround and will host St Lawrence on Tuesday November 11th at 7:00 PM
