BASICS
Oswego 70 (3-5, 1-1 SUNYAC)
Poly 33 (2-5, 0-0 Empire 8)
Wildcat Field House | Utica, NY

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lakers got out to a steaming hot start. Zhane Holmes in the first six minutes, had three beyond the arc jumpers and the Lakers were out to a fast 14-2 advantage. The Wildcats battled back a bit as they went on a 6-0 run midway through the first quarter. The Lakers stayed composed and were able to close out the first period of play up 6. Holmes had nine of the Lakers' first 16 points.

Scoring went dry to start the second quarter as the first field goal came nearly three minutes in. It was Junior Bri Weaver that muscled home a 2 for Oswego to get them out to an 8 point lead. Jazmyn Lewis rattled home a three to extend the Lakers lead to double digits shortly after. The Lakers were excellent on the defensive side of the ball as the first Wildcat bucket came at the 5:30 mark in the second. The Lakers offensive attack kept the lead around for most of the period. Lewis added another three as well as Madison Aikens getting a two at the rim to close out the half. The Lakers were up 30-17 going into the locker room.

The Lakers started right where they left off getting to the free throw line early as well as Sydney Hoefs canning a triple to open up the Oswego scoring. Hoefs would then score 5 more straight points. Hoefs would again get a three to fall that would be good for a 11 point run.  White-Principio would score four straight and the Lakers were executing on all sides of their offense. The Wildcats did not have an answer for Oswego in the third period. Sarah Hirschler would find nylon from three point range twice to cap off Oswego's monster quarter. The Lakers outscored the Wildcats 25-4 in this period and would hold a 55-21 lead.

Delaney Wiley would get in on the Lakers scoring barrage as she added 2 free throws and a bucket in the fourth period. White-Principio also kept her scoring going. Oswego kept their big lead in the fourth quarter in an dominant win. It ended with a Jena Russo layup in the Lakers 70-33 win.

WHAT'S NEXT
The Lakers have a long break before they invite the 7-0 Houghton Highlanders out of the Empire 8  to Laker Hall. The Highlanders hold a +36.7 point differential and will be a test for the Lakers. Tipoff will occur on January 3rd at 2:00pm.
