White-Principio’s 27-Point, 22-Rebound Domination Lifts Oswego to SUNYAC-Opening Win at Morrisville

Location: Morrisville, NY | STUAC Gymnasium

How it Happened
White-Principio was unstoppable from the opening tip, turning in one of the strongest outings of her career. The senior forward poured in 27 points, hauled down 22 rebounds, and anchored the Lakers on both ends of the floor, including several momentum-shifting blocks and second-chance putbacks that kept Oswego in control throughout.

Holmes was the engine in the backcourt, finishing with 16 points, 10 assists, and 9 rebounds, orchestrating the offense with pace while knocking down key shots to halt Morrisville runs. Her ability to control the tempo proved invaluable as the Lakers weathered a series of Mustang three-pointers in the second half.

Oswego burst out to a 24-point first quarter, its highest opening frame of the season—behind early threes from Holmes and Sarah Hirschler. The Lakers pushed their lead to double digits in the second quarter after threes from Juliette Huguet and Delaney Wiley, building a 30–16 advantage. Morrisville responded with a late surge, but Oswego entered halftime still in front, 36–30.

The Mustangs trimmed the margin to one in the third, but each time Morrisville threatened to erase the lead, the Lakers had an answer. Hirschler drilled a timely three from the wing on her way to 14 points, and White-Principio continued to dominate the interior, helping Oswego rebuild a 10-point lead by the end of the quarter.

In the fourth, Oswego delivered its most decisive run of the afternoon. A steal and finish from Huguet, followed by another strong inside finish from White-Principio, stretched the game back to double digits. Moments later, Bri Weaver buried a corner three, and Hirschler added another from deep to create the separation the Lakers needed to close out the contest.
