HOW IT HAPPENED

The Oswego State Lakers and SUNY Canton Roos seemed to score at will through much of the game. The Lakers traded baskets back and forth, with Canton as the halftime score remained deadlocked at 42. The Lakers continued to control the paint for much of the half, with 28 of their 42 points coming from the paint. Giavanna White-Principio had 20 points at half time.

In the 2nd half, the theme of the match remained the same: high scoring and a lot of opportunities in the transition. Giavanna White-Prinicipio was able to shoot 15-16 from the charity stripe. She was able to record a double-double with a game-high 28 points and 16 rebounds. A double-double contribution from Shania Iglesias with 20 points and 10 rebounds helped the Lakers keep pace with the Roos. In the final 5 seconds, Canton knocked down a three and the Lakers were not able to answer. Ultimately The Roos squeaked out a 1-point victory in what was a hard fought match for both teams.
