UTICA, NY. - The Oswego State Women's Lacrosse team traveled to Utica University today and came out on top with a dominant 18-7 win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After 2 early goals from
Alexis Hill and
Madison Davis gave the Lakers a 2-0 lead, the Pioneers scored 2 unanswered goals of their own, tying it up at 2 goals apiece. The teams scored goal-for-goal, as
Julia Quirk scored first, followed by
Alexis Hill.
Alexis Hill would score her third to make it 5-4 at the end of the first.
In the second quarter,
Alexis Hill scored 3 more throughout the period, with
Noelle Smith tacking on one more. The Lakers defense allowed only two, and Oswego went into half ahead 9-6.
It took
Alexis Hill under a minute to score her seventh goal of the night, and she tacked on an eight with just under four minutes left.
Julia Quirk also added one more goal before the end of the third, as the Lakers extended their lead, making it 12-7.
In the fourth, The Lakers would tack on six more goals, scored by five separate scorers.
Julia Quirk scored two more, with
Madison Davis,
Cassidy Croce,
Noelle Smith, and
Sadie Zemanick scoring one, and walking away with a dominant 18-7 victory. In goal,
Alana Iacovissi collected three saves and a win.
This win also marked the 65
th win for Head Coach
Britt Howard. This ties her for the most all time in women's lacrosse history!

The Oswego State Lakers will host their home opener this Saturday, March 1st against the RIT Tigers at 3:00PM.
