OSWEGO WALKS IT OFF IN EXTRAS OVER WIDENER

Salisbury, MD - The Lakers in their second game in Maryland would be resilient enough to squeeze out a win over the Widener Pride out of the Middle Atlantic Conference.

THE BASICS

Oswego 5 ( 1-1, 0-0 SUNYAC)

Widener 4 ( 2-2, 0-0 MAC)

Sea Gull Baseball Stadium | Salisbury, MD

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Oswego left a runner on base in the 1st after a base knock from the sophomore, Daniel Winchetser

  • In the second, Widener's Ryan Bauerle tripled down the right field line. After a wild pitch, the Pride would get on the board first 1-0

  • The 3rd inning for Oswego started how they wanted with a triple from Patrick May. May would find the plate after a sacrifice fly from Daniel Winchester

  • Widener would waste no time taking that lead back as Brenden Raven would send Bauerle home and the Pride would be up 2-1.

  • Triples were for some reason very common in this one as Dylan Rosenberg would pick up a 3-baser and after a Jake Lukaswiecz single, the Lakers would tie this one up, 2-2. The Lakers would also leave 2 on base.

  • Back to back doubles in the 6th for Widener would send Sean Burke home and Widener would take the lead right back.

  • Jon Aman ripped a single and stole second right after. WIth him being in scoring position, Ryan Bauerle doubled and Aman would score. And the top of the 7th would end with the Pride up 4-2.

  • Joe McLaughlin after a single and 2 stolen bags would be on 3rd. A wild pitch would occur and McLaughlin would score making the score 4-3 with Widener still in the lead.

  • Matt Carner in the bottom of the 8th, would single and find himself on third after a throwing error on Widener. Lukaswiecz would hit a sac fly to tie this game up.

  • This game would go into extras and in the bottom of the 10th, Tishawn Featherstone would single. A bunt by Matt Carner would advance Featherstone to second. Rosenberg would walk it off with a single to left and Oswego would win 5-4.

Win - Matthew Drillings

Luke Belanger's POTG - Dylan Rosenberg (3 hits, 1 RBI, 1 triple, 1 SB)
