FARMINGDALE, NY - Oswego traveled into Rams field to take on Farmingdale on Saturday. The Rams' way to respond to every goal that Oswego scored would end up being too much for the Lakers as they dropped the 7th game of the season.
THE BASICS
Oswego 10 (3-4, 0-0 SUNYAC)
Farmingdale 14 (6-2, 0-0 Skyline)
Rams Field | Farmington, NY
HOW IT HAPPENED
It was all Farmingdale for the first 7 minutes as they played excellent defense, killing all of Oswego's opportunities and scored 2 goals of their own. Oswego eventually get 2 goals that came from a
Corey O'Connor shot and
Hayden Coney's 5th goal of the season. We were tied at 2 until Farmingdale took the lead back with 4 minutes and some change left to go in the first. Oswego would respond with another goal to square it back up. Ultimately at the end of the first Ram's Thomas Stock would score and Farmingdale led 4-3.
Quickly for the Lakers, Coney would pick up his second goal of the game to tie the contest. But the rest of the second was all Farmingdale State. 3 unanswered goals were scored by them. Oswego had chances but couldn't capitalize. The Rams took a commanding 7-4 lead going into halftime.
Farmingdale came out just as hot as they left it with 2 more goals coming from Stock and Adam Giovinco. They were up 5 quickly. Oswego, trying to fight back in this one, would be rewarded by a O'Connor goal, his second of the day. The Rams responded quickly to keep the lead at 5.
Gavin Elston would score but again the Rams responded to the call to maintain their lead. Finally, the Lakers would break through a bit when they put up 2 unanswered goals. They both came from O'Connor. These were his 11th and 12th goals of the year. Oswego going into the 4th, was down by 3.
To start the 4
th, Giovinco gave the Rams a lead of 4. Oswego with less than 2 minutes left would show some life with a goal from
Connor Aspinall but the Rams, like they did all game long, would respond to put this game to rest. Farmingdale would beat Oswego 14-10.
